2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing LAPLACE, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, along with our Privacy Policy and Security Notice. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our website.

3. Description of Services

LAPLACE provides users with the following services:

• Bilibili Livestream Information: Analytics, statistics, and insights about Bilibili livestreams (data sourced from third-party providers)
• AI Chat Feature: Free AI-powered chat interface available to all users without traditional registration, supporting multiple AI models and features including web search, reasoning, and image analysis
• Media Library: Access to curated live music covers, radio streams, and audiobooks clipped from livestreams
• Community Contributions: User-contributed data including VTuber schedule information and other community-generated content
• Interactive Features: Real-time interactive canvas, leaderboards, gift galleries, and other community engagement tools
• Data Visualization: Charts, timelines, and analytics dashboards for Bilibili content and creators

4. Account and Authentication

LAPLACE does not require traditional user registration with email and password. However, certain features offer optional enhanced functionality:

• Login Sync Token: You may optionally sync your Bilibili login state using our browser extension to access enhanced features such as uncensored livestream chat. The sync token encrypts your login credentials and syncs with our servers. By using this feature, you acknowledge the security considerations and risks outlined in our LAPLACE Login Sync Documentation. You can manage or revoke your sync token at any time through the browser extension.
• No Account Creation: We do not create, store, or manage user accounts. All user preferences and data are stored locally in your browser.
• Third-Party Authentication: Any login sync functionality is provided through browser extensions and does not constitute a LAPLACE account.
• Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your sync token and understanding the risks involved. Please read the Login Sync Documentation carefully before enabling this feature.

5. User Conduct and Acceptable Use

When using LAPLACE, you agree to:

• Not use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, other users' data, or connected systems
• Not transmit harmful code, viruses, or malicious content
• Not abuse, harass, threaten, or intimidate other users or third parties
• Not use the AI chat feature to generate harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content
• Not scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from LAPLACE beyond normal browsing
• Not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Not interfere with or disrupt the service or servers/networks connected to the service

6. AI Chat and Content Generation

• Third-Party AI Services: AI chat responses are generated by third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, and others). We do not control or guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or appropriateness of AI-generated content.
• Data Usage and Research: AI conversations may be stored server-side for research purposes, service improvement, and transparency. Some conversations may be made publicly available as outlined in our Security Notice.
• No Guarantees: AI-generated content is provided "as is" without warranties. You are responsible for verifying any information before relying on it.
• Content Moderation: We reserve the right to moderate, filter, or block AI conversations that violate our policies or applicable laws.

7. Login Sync Security and Risks

IMPORTANT SECURITY NOTICE: The Login Sync feature involves handling your Bilibili login credentials. By using this feature, you acknowledge and accept the following:

• Inherent Risks: Providing your login credentials to any third-party service, including LAPLACE, carries inherent security risks. While we encrypt your credentials and implement security measures, no system is 100% secure.
• Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for understanding these risks before enabling Login Sync. We strongly recommend reading the complete security documentation at https://subspace.institute/docs/laplace-login-sync.
• Data Access: When you enable Login Sync, our servers will have the ability to decrypt and access your Bilibili login credentials to provide enhanced features.
• Potential Consequences: In the event of a security breach or unauthorized access, your Bilibili account could be compromised. We recommend using a secondary account if you have security concerns.
• No Liability: You use Login Sync at your own risk. LAPLACE is not liable for any unauthorized access to your Bilibili account or any consequences resulting from the use of this feature.
• Alternative Options: You can self-host the sync server using CookieCloud. Instructions are available in the documentation linked above.

By enabling Login Sync, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accept these risks and terms.

8. User-Generated Content

When you submit content to LAPLACE (including contributions, superchat messages, or other data):

• You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your contributions
• You represent that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not violate any third-party rights
• You agree that contributions may be moderated, edited, or removed at our discretion
• You retain ownership of your original content, but acknowledge that aggregated or anonymized data may be retained

9. Privacy and Data Collection

Our practices regarding your personal information are described in our Privacy Policy. By using LAPLACE, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in the Privacy Policy, including:

• Local storage of preferences and data in your browser (localStorage and IndexedDB)
• Analytics data collection through self-hosted Plausible Analytics
• Transmission of AI chat conversations to third-party AI providers
• Use of Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection (see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy)
• Ephemeral real-time data collection through PartyKit

10. Intellectual Property

• Third-Party Content: All media content (music covers, radio, audiobooks) is owned by the original creators and streamers. We do not claim ownership and provide this content for informational and entertainment purposes only.
• LAPLACE Platform: The LAPLACE website, design, code, features, and original content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
• Fair Use: Content is presented under fair use principles for commentary, criticism, and information purposes.
• DMCA Compliance: If you believe your copyrighted work has been used inappropriately, please contact us at s@laplace.live with details.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

LAPLACE integrates with and links to third-party services including:

• AI model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, and others)
• Cloudflare (Turnstile bot protection and CDN - see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy)
• PartyKit (real-time features)
• Bilibili and other content platforms

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or terms of service of these external services. You access third-party services at your own risk and subject to their respective terms.

12. Service Availability and Modifications

• LAPLACE is provided "as is" and "as available" without guarantees of uptime or availability
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the entire service at any time without notice
• We may impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts of the service
• We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service

13. Termination and Access Restriction

We reserve the right to:

• Restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to LAPLACE at our sole discretion
• Remove or disable any content or contributions
• Take legal action for violations of these Terms or applicable laws
• Block IP addresses, devices, or other identifiers to prevent abuse

Termination may occur without prior notice for conduct that violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or compromises the integrity of our services.

14. Disclaimers and Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• LAPLACE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED
• WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT
• WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE
• WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY CONTENT OR DATA
• AI-GENERATED CONTENT MAY BE INACCURATE, INCOMPLETE, OR INAPPROPRIATE

15. Limitations of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• LAPLACE, ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
• THIS INCLUDES DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES
• OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 USD OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE LAPLACE (IF ANY)
• THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES

Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with LAPLACE is to stop using the service.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LAPLACE, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use or misuse of LAPLACE
• Your violation of these Terms of Service
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
• Your user-generated content or contributions

17. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

• Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
• Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of LAPLACE shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where prohibited by law.
• Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits.
• Exceptions: Either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and Security Notice, constitute the entire agreement between you and LAPLACE regarding your use of the service and supersede all prior agreements.

20. Modifications to the Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Updated" date. Material changes will be prominently indicated. Your continued use of LAPLACE after changes indicates your acceptance of the new Terms of Service. If you do not agree to the modified terms, you must stop using LAPLACE.
